Anaphylaxis is an extreme and severe allergic reaction. The whole body is affected, often within minutes of exposure to the allergen but sometimes after hours. Emphasis in training is placed upon understanding the difference with an allergy and an intolerance; thereby learning how to support a child or adult with those needs.
We discuss allergy-avoidance and look at individual care-plans, how and where the auto-injector pens are stored safely. We go through various scenarios (on and off site for example) and so that everyone is equipped with how to deal with an anaphylaxis emergency.
The Course Covers The Following Topics :
Understanding the difference between an intolerance and allergy
Recording accidents and incidents
Planning for emergencies
Communication and casualty care
Unconscious casualty management
Resuscitation Recognizing and responding to Allergic reactions & Asthma Attacks
The effects of using an adrenaline pen
Administration of medicine guidelines
Anaphylaxis – signs, symptom and treatment
Auto-injector – Epipen
We are not limited for the number of attendees and sometime run courses back-to-back, at no additional cost, therefore training all your staff and also covering staff absence.
